About the position

The Service Sales Account Manager (SSAM) at Hitachi Energy is responsible for driving service sales of electrical power equipment substation services and projects within the Midwest Region. This role involves presenting service solutions to both new and existing clients, developing account plans for growth, and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction. The SSAM will collaborate with technical experts to promote the entire service product portfolio, focusing on building long-term relationships and addressing customer needs effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to and implement the service sales strategy.
  • Develop and implement service sales account plans to ensure growth.
  • Penetrate installed base and promote various upgrade, retrofit, and value-add solutions.
  • Utilize ServIS IB database to identify and develop sales opportunities for service products.
  • Conduct sales calls and customer facility walk-throughs to identify service opportunities.
  • Generate service sales leads and develop new market opportunities.
  • Establish long-term customer relationships by understanding requirements and demonstrating technical knowledge.
  • Sell the entire service product portfolio to expand Hitachi Energy's footprint in the region.
  • Prepare service offerings based on customer needs and coordinate with various stakeholders.
  • Act as a marketer/salesperson during marketing activities and translate customer needs into service offerings.
  • Contribute to risk assessments related to price and quality and ensure compliance with health and safety directives.
  • Provide technical direction for service sales training to less-experienced staff.

Requirements

  • 3-9 years of experience in sales, sales support, and/or service of power systems/solutions.
  • Familiarity with multiple Hitachi Energy power products and services.
  • Willingness to travel 60%.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering or technical discipline.
  • Previous experience working with electric substation equipment.
  • Familiarity with Operations & Maintenance practices of electric substation equipment.
  • Experience with substation construction.
  • Experience negotiating long-term substation service contracts.
