About the position

The Service Sales Engineer III position within the Facility Service Group is a dynamic role that focuses on managing projects requiring quick turnaround while maintaining a strong customer-first attitude. This role encompasses a variety of responsibilities including conceptual design, project management, and sales for commercial and industrial facility systems. The individual will be tasked with not only handling established sales leads but also actively developing new client relationships to meet and exceed sales goals. The position requires a proactive approach to identifying and negotiating repair services, preparing and presenting effective sales proposals, and managing all phases of projects from inception to close out. In this role, the Service Sales Engineer will work closely with customers to form in-depth partnerships, anticipating their needs and providing solutions that align with their objectives. The individual will also be responsible for documenting and following up on leads and referrals, ensuring that all project phases are communicated effectively with both staff and clients. The position demands a strong ability to resolve issues proactively, confer with various stakeholders, and review contracts for compliance. Additionally, the Service Sales Engineer will collaborate with in-house engineers to review engineered drawings and guide field personnel on project execution. Keeping management informed about market conditions and trends affecting the industry is also a critical aspect of this role.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, sell, and negotiate repair services for commercial and industrial facility systems.
  • Prepare and present effective sales proposals to new and existing customers that will develop profitable results.
  • Develop new client relationships through prospecting activities.
  • Document and follow up leads and referrals.
  • Project Management of all phases of a project, from inception to close out.
  • Proactively resolve issues, problems, provide information and advice as needed.
  • Form in-depth partnerships with our customers and anticipate their needs.
  • Meet and exceed sales quotas and profit margins.
  • Act in 'decision maker' role with clients.
  • Confer with staff and customers on all phases of projects.
  • Review contracts to evaluate compliance.
  • Partner with in-house Engineers to review engineered drawings.
  • Help direct field personnel or other staff on projects.
  • Keep management abreast of market conditions and trends affecting the industry.
  • Other duties as assigned by upper management.

Requirements

  • Practical understanding of plumbing systems and service sales.
  • Ability to successfully project manage a number of projects at the same time.
  • Successful history of sales experience and prospecting for new customers.
  • Ability to effectively interact with customers, field staff, management and office personnel.
  • Possess strong written, verbal, analytical and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team atmosphere.
  • Ability to adapt to flexible responsibilities.
  • Ability to consistently set goals and meet deadlines.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and auto liability insurance.
