About the position

The Service Sales Engineer (SSE) position at Edwards Vacuum LLC is a pivotal role aimed at maximizing the sustainable growth of the Vacuum Technology Solutions (VTS) business across the Mid-Atlantic Territory. This position is remote, with a preference for candidates based in Philadelphia, Baltimore, or Northern Virginia. The SSE will be responsible for promoting sales of service products to both new and existing customers, aligning with the company's business plans. The role requires a deep understanding of the After Market and Service Sales strategy, providing an opportunity for the SSE to develop key sales behaviors and grow within the organization. In this role, the SSE will engage in various activities, including upselling and promoting proactive service products such as service plans, pump exchanges, certified units, and field services. The SSE will strategically analyze and develop the pump install base to drive business growth. Effective planning and prioritization of sales activities are essential to achieve agreed business targets while managing personal time and productivity effectively. The SSE will utilize internal quoting tools to create service plans and quotations, capturing and maintaining sales data in the company's CRM platform. This includes planning appointments, documenting visit reports, and managing leads, opportunities, and quotations. Building and maintaining strong customer relationships at all levels within the territory is crucial to ensure an excellent standard of aftermarket service. The SSE will also identify and manage distributors and manufacturing representative companies, collaborate effectively with service and divisional colleagues, and attend sales meetings to ensure all required actions are undertaken. Additionally, the SSE will undertake ad-hoc project work related to VTS, including new products and marketing campaigns, and provide regular customer feedback and information.

Responsibilities

  • Upsell and promote proactive service products including service plans, pump exchanges, certified units, and field services.
  • Strategically grow the business through analysis and development of the pump install base.
  • Plan and prioritize sales activities to achieve agreed business targets, managing personal time and productivity.
  • Create service plans and quotations using the internal quoting tool.
  • Capture and maintain sales data in the CRM platform, including planning appointments, visit reports, leads, opportunities, and quotations.
  • Develop and maintain good customer relationships at all levels within the territory to ensure excellent aftermarket service.
  • Identify and manage distributors and manufacturing representative companies.
  • Collaborate effectively with service and divisional colleagues, managers, and support services.
  • Attend sales meetings and ensure all subsequent actions are undertaken.
  • Undertake ad-hoc project work related to VTS, including new products and marketing campaigns.
  • Provide customer information and feedback on a regular basis.
  • Engage in intensive travel as required.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in business administration, communications, or related field preferred.
  • A minimum of three (3) years direct sales experience, selling service and/or capital equipment.
  • Ability to exhibit a hunting mentality when sourcing for leads and pursuing goals.
  • Passion for service and customer satisfaction.
  • Strong computer skills required, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, CRM, and the ability to learn and utilize additional transaction and planning systems.
  • Ability to drive customer success through building strong customer relationships and delivering customer-centric solutions.
  • Ability to improve business results by embracing change and creating innovative ways for Edwards Vacuum to be successful.
