About the position

The Service Team Member at Michaels is responsible for delivering friendly customer service, assisting customers in shopping, and ensuring a fast and friendly checkout experience. This part-time, seasonal role involves various tasks including merchandise recovery, truck unloading, and maintaining store standards to uphold the brand's promises. The position requires engaging with customers about store programs and assisting with omni-channel processes.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver friendly customer service and assist customers in shopping.
  • Ensure all customers receive a fast and friendly checkout experience.
  • Complete truck unloading and merchandise duties throughout the store.
  • Maintain store recovery standards to deliver brand promises.
  • Help customers locate products and provide solutions.
  • Execute cash handling to standards during checkout.
  • Engage customers on the benefits of the Rewards program and Private Label Credit Cards.
  • Educate customers on the Voice of Customer (VOC) survey.
  • Assist with omni-channel processes, including Buy Online Pickup in Store (BOPIS) and Ship From Store (SFS).
  • Participate in truck unload, stocking, and planogram (POGs) processes.
  • Complete merchandise recovery and maintenance including returns and general store recovery.
  • Perform Store In Stock Optimization (SISO) and AD set duties as assigned.
  • Support shrink and safety programs.
  • Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and company policies.
  • Interact positively and respectfully with others and serve as a role model for team members.
  • Cross train in Custom Framing selling and production.

Requirements

  • Retail and/or customer service experience preferred.
  • Ability to remain standing for long periods of time.
  • Ability to move throughout the store and perform regular bending, lifting, carrying, reaching, and stretching.
