Join Kay Apartment Communities' service team at our 346-unit apartment community in Landover, MD. The service department is responsible for maintaining the physical integrity of our properties and is committed to providing exceptional customer service and a comfortable living experience for our residents. As a Service Technician, you will report to the community manager and work under the supervision of the service manager/supervisor or engineer. Your role will involve a variety of maintenance tasks to ensure the apartments are in excellent condition and that residents receive prompt and professional service. In this position, you will be expected to provide exceptional customer service and effectively communicate with residents, guests, visitors, and staff while adhering to company policies and Fair Housing laws. You will complete all property maintenance work, service requests, turnovers, building inspections, and preventative maintenance as requested. This includes servicing, repairing, replacing, and installing various items such as stoves, refrigerators, dishwashers, plumbing fixtures, electrical circuits, and more. You will also be responsible for preparing apartments for move-in on a specified schedule and performing preventative maintenance tasks as required by the community. Maintaining all company-owned equipment in good working condition is essential, and you will be expected to perform other duties as assigned. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in apartment maintenance, excellent organizational and communication skills, and the ability to work independently and professionally. You will also need to be available for on-call duties and respond to emergency calls within 30 minutes, which may include working extended hours, including after hours and weekends.
