Service Technician Associate

About the position

The Service Technician Associate at Atmos Energy is responsible for reading gas meters for various customers, observing and reporting any abnormal conditions, and performing basic service and construction work as required. This role emphasizes safety, customer service, and adherence to company policies and procedures, while also providing training to entry-level Meter Readers.

Responsibilities

• Reads gas meters for residential, commercial and industrial customers and records readings for billing purposes.
• Observes and reports all abnormal, dangerous and/or damaged conditions pertaining to gas meters and adjacent areas.
• Observes and reports atmospheric corrosion or damage.
• May perform basic service and/or construction work as qualified and required.
• Able to train entry level Meter Readers.
• Identifies, addresses, and reports safety and encroachment issues.
• Responsible for the safe operation and inspection of assigned Company vehicles and equipment.
• Demonstrates support for and adheres to the Company's values, strategies, policies and procedures.
• Familiarizes with the contents of the Safety Manual and participates in creating and maintaining a safe working environment.

Requirements

• Requires a high school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED).
• Requires a valid driver's license.
• Must obtain and maintain Operator Qualifications (OQs) and complete required classroom training.
• Requires the ability to communicate with internal and/or external customers.
• Requires basic numeric skills for addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Requires basic computer skills for data entry and retrieval.
