About the position

The Service Technician at Global Machinery is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of construction and utility equipment. This role involves direct customer interaction, ensuring equipment operates efficiently, and providing written service reports for billing purposes. The technician will work with various machinery, including excavators and trenchers, and must adhere to safety regulations while performing their duties.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, adjust, repair, and perform service maintenance on construction and utility equipment.
• Operate and inspect machines or equipment to diagnose defects or ensure proper operating efficiency.
• Repair and overhaul machines as required based on diagnostic work performed.
• Perform routine maintenance checks and pre-delivery check-in of new units.
• Assist in the demonstration of products to customers as required.
• Examine parts for damage or excessive wear and troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Use test equipment such as hydraulic gauges and electrical test meters to diagnose equipment systems.
• Read and understand service manuals, hydraulic and electrical schematics, and parts books.
• Communicate with customers to assist in solving problems over the phone or in person.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of tools, equipment, and work area.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of relevant work experience.
• Proficient with mechanic hand tools and air tools.
• Experience with electrical test equipment including volt meters and amp meters.
• Ability to read and understand service manuals and schematics.
• Strong communication skills for customer interaction.
