About the position

The HVAC Service Technician Helper is responsible for assisting HVAC Service Technicians in delivering high-quality service and maintenance for residential heating and air conditioning systems. This role involves working under the supervision of the HVAC Service Supervisor and Operations Management to ensure that all tasks are performed correctly and efficiently, contributing to customer satisfaction and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Assist HVAC Service Technicians in maintaining and repairing heating and air conditioning equipment.
  • Inspect and maintain ducting and company materials/equipment to ensure they are in serviceable condition.
  • Identify, wire, and start-up complete residential split-systems.
  • Help resolve and repair issues to keep equipment functioning properly.
  • Test and record information for each system during start-up to ensure proper functionality.
  • Coordinate with the office for daily work schedules.
  • Transport materials and tools to job sites and account for assigned tools.
  • Manually haul old systems out and new systems into job sites.
  • Debrief service provided with dispatch/direct supervision after each service call with documentation.
  • Inspect the work area for cleanliness after job completion.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the company vehicle.
  • Abide by company standards of performance and code of ethics.
  • Maintain a courteous demeanor with customers and associates.
  • Ensure protective footwear is worn while working in client homes.
  • Follow safety policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Beginner computing skills and ability to use a computer, laptop, or tablet.
  • Basic proficiency in navigating the internet and email software such as Microsoft Outlook.
  • Valid driver's license.

Nice-to-haves

  • HVAC trade school certification.
  • 1-2 years' experience in construction, HVAC, or related fields.
  • EPA Certification.
