About the position
The Service Technician L4B is responsible for diagnosing and performing vehicle repairs and maintenance work in accordance with factory and dealership specifications. This role requires a high level of technical skill and attention to detail, as technicians will handle a variety of repairs, from routine maintenance to complex diagnostics. The position is 100% on-site and offers a base hourly rate with bonus compensation based on individual productivity.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and perform vehicle repairs and maintenance work as assigned.
- Perform work outlined on repair orders with efficiency and accuracy.
- Carry out a variety of vehicle repairs, including oil changes and rebuilding vehicles.
- Document all work performed and findings on repair orders and inspection sheets.
- Road test vehicles to quality check work performed as required.
- Examine vehicles to determine if additional safety or service work is required.
- Maintain communication with Service Advisor/Assistant Service Manager regarding work status.
- Complete all work according to applicable safety requirements and published procedures.
- Achieve production objectives set by management.
- Maintain tools and equipment in a proper state of repair.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of GM dealership technician experience or equivalent technician experience with certifications.
- Current Gold Certification in Electrical Electronics and Cold Certification in 3 or more GM Specialties within 12 months of start date.
- Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
- Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles and determine causes of operating errors.
- Must have a valid driver's license and maintain an acceptable driving record.
