About the position

As a Service Technician at Mark-Taylor, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the quality and safety of our multifamily communities. Your primary responsibilities will include performing repairs, preventative maintenance, and ensuring exceptional customer service while representing the Mark-Taylor brand. This position requires a hands-on approach to various maintenance tasks and a commitment to upholding the standards of our properties.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the completion of make ready units to Mark-Taylor standards and maintain an adequate supply of make-ready units for the community.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and correct minor air conditioning and/or heating failures, appliance repairs, electrical problems, plumbing problems, minor carpentry, and drywall repairs.
• Perform necessary repairs and preventative maintenance on vacant units as they become available.
• Perform daily pool care, ensuring the pool is in proper chemical balance and the area is free of safety concerns.
• Complete minor roof repairs, re-key locks, and cut keys.
• Inspect the property for safety hazards that may pose a liability and correct the hazard, informing the Manager of Facilities and Service of the hazard.
• Share on-call duty with the Manager of Facilities and Service and service team members, being readily available to go to the property if needed and in uniform/badge.
• Assist in monitoring inventory of parts and cleaning supplies.

Requirements

• General knowledge in plumbing, electrical, pool maintenance, HVAC, carpentry, landscape maintenance, appliances, and OSHA-related standards.
• Knowledge of building systems and service orientation.
• Basic computer skills.
• Experience as an apartment turn technician, make ready technician, or work order technician is highly desirable.
• A basic understanding of written and verbal English.
