About the position

The Service Technician at RR Living is responsible for a variety of maintenance tasks to ensure the health, safety, and comfort of residents. This role involves performing make-readies, plumbing, pool maintenance, carpentry, painting, and grounds maintenance, as well as expediting service requests. The technician is also tasked with maintaining excellent public relations within the community and ensuring that all maintenance tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Expediting make-ready maintenance including checking appliance operations, changing light bulbs, and repairing minor electrical problems.
  • Performing minor plumbing repairs such as fixing dripping faucets and cleaning stopped sinks, tubs, and toilets.
  • Maintaining pool facilities by backwashing filters, vacuuming, and skimming the pool while ensuring required chemical levels are maintained.
  • Conducting carpentry work including repairing balconies, doors, frames, flooring, and fences.
  • Painting tasks such as replacing damaged drywall, texturing walls and ceilings, and painting surfaces.
  • Performing grounds maintenance by collecting litter, assisting groundskeepers, and clearing snow and ice from public areas.
  • Expediting service requests and maintaining excellent public relations for the corporation and the complex.
  • Repairing appliances, re-keying locks, and performing light electrical repairs.
  • Maintaining supplies inventory and replacing burned-out lights in public areas.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Minimum two years' experience in general apartment maintenance is preferred.
  • Certification in one or more maintenance specialties such as plumbing or refrigeration is preferred.
  • HVAC and pool maintenance certifications are needed.
  • Knowledge of OSHA laws and regulations is required.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Excellent human relation skills for tenant interaction are required.
  • Mechanical aptitude and interest are specifically required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in plumbing and HVAC systems.
  • Knowledge of pool maintenance and chemical balancing.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
