About the position

The Service Technician Level 1 at AgriVision Equipment Group and PrairieLand Partners is responsible for performing basic diagnostics, service repairs, and maintenance on customer and dealer-owned agricultural equipment. This role emphasizes customer service, teamwork, and adherence to safety protocols while maintaining a clean and organized work environment. The technician will receive guidance from the Service Manager and participate in training programs to enhance their skills and knowledge in the agricultural equipment sector.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs and maintenance using proper tools, techniques, and equipment for specialized machines.
• Follow Technical Manual procedures for maintenance and repairs.
• Seek direction and guidance from the Service Manager or senior technicians as necessary.
• Maintain contact with customers regarding work performed on equipment.
• Participate in required training programs to advance work-related skills and knowledge.
• Maintain current knowledge of John Deere and competitive products.
• Keep vehicles, inventory, tools, and equipment in good working order.
• Maintain a clean work area and perform work in an orderly fashion.
• Follow all safety rules and regulations during work assignments.
• Complete all reports and forms required for work assignments.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) equivalent is required.
• One or more years of experience performing service repairs is preferred.
• Proficient knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used in equipment repair is preferred.
• Ability to operate vehicles and equipment for diagnostic purposes is required.
• Ability to communicate effectively with staff and customers, both verbally and in writing is necessary.

Nice-to-haves

• Forklift certification preferred or ability to obtain one.
