About the position
The Service Technician at the Miami Valley Educational Computer Association (MVECA) is responsible for maintaining and repairing workstations, printers, and network devices for client organizations in the southern Montgomery County region. This role involves troubleshooting hardware issues, installing and repairing network wiring, and ensuring optimal network performance. The technician will also install, maintain, and configure workstation software, while effectively communicating technical concepts to non-technical users.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair workstations, printers, and various network devices.
- Troubleshoot workstations and network hardware.
- Identify parts and supplies needed for repairs.
- Install and repair network wiring.
- Identify network-related problems and ensure good network performance.
- Install, maintain, and configure workstation software.
Requirements
- Associate's degree in computer science or equivalent experience.
- 2 years of experience in a related field.
- Expertise in PC and MAC applications.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to train adult learners with diverse job responsibilities and computer application skills.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical individuals.
- Documented evidence of a clear criminal record.
