About the position

The Service Writer at Ag-Pro plays a crucial role in supporting the service department by managing customer inquiries, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring efficient operations within the dealership. This position involves opening and closing work orders, maintaining service documentation, and assisting with various administrative tasks to enhance service delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Field internal and external customer inquiries to the Service Department.
  • Open work orders as directed by the Service Manager/Shop Foreman and maintain control until they are closed and invoiced.
  • Maintain the service library with current information, including files, bulletins, manuals, and multimedia under the supervision of the Service Manager.
  • Maintain Service Department filing and records.
  • Update customer profiles using equipment, hours, or other information from customer work orders.
  • Maintain accessories and supplies and prepare replacement orders.
  • Prepare Service Technician efficiency reports as needed.
  • Process warranty and/or product improvement claims, including computation of charges, submission, and follow-up.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of accounting practices.
  • Ability to use standard desktop load applications such as Microsoft Office and internet functions.
  • Knowledge of office procedures.
  • General understanding of mechanical/technical terms is preferred.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
