About the position

The Services Operations Specialist role at Avantor involves supporting lab and production services by performing customized lab work and research protocols. This position is essential for ensuring customer satisfaction and operational efficiency, requiring travel between various locations in Massachusetts and potentially outside the state. The specialist will work closely with management and team members to fulfill customer requirements and maintain quality metrics.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all duties associated with operations of Site Services.
  • Lead and coordinate the team's efforts to fulfill customer requirements.
  • Work closely with management to complete projects such as Standard Operating Procedures and Scopes of Work.
  • Utilize Avantor and customer computer systems including SAP and Inventory Manager.
  • Train Avantor Lab and Production Services associates on service offerings.
  • Provide SAP support including customer services and invoice scrubbing.
  • Modify and maintain quality metrics and key performance indicators.
  • Manage a budget related to expense reports.
  • Meet revenue, safety, performance, and quality goals.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate's or undergraduate degree in business or science-related field preferred.
  • 3-5+ years of experience in inventory control, procurement, shipping and receiving, or inside sales preferred.
  • Certifications such as IATA, DOT, OSHA Right to Know, IMDG, Forklift, and Hazwoper are a plus.
  • Valid driver's license and transportation required.
  • Ability to travel outside Massachusetts up to 25% of the time.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in lab operations or customer service in a scientific environment.
  • Familiarity with SAP and other inventory management systems.
