About the position

The Services Operations Specialist will play a vital role in supporting Avantor's Lab and Production Services by performing customized lab work and research protocols. This position involves close collaboration with the Operations Specialist Manager and requires travel between various locations in Massachusetts, as well as occasional travel outside the state. The specialist will be responsible for fulfilling customer requirements and ensuring the smooth operation of site services.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all duties associated with operations of Site Services.
  • Lead and coordinate the team's efforts to perform tasks related to fulfilling customer requirements.
  • Work closely with management to complete projects such as Standard Operating Procedures, Scopes of Work, Standard Work, On-The-Job Training, and other assorted tasks along with direct customer interfacing relative to job functions.
  • Utilize Avantor and customer computer systems: SAP, Inventory Manager, Chemical Manager and/or other customer specific applications.
  • Train Avantor Lab and Production Services associates on all service offerings.
  • Provide SAP Support (Full customer services, credit rebills, invoice scrubbing).
  • Modify and maintain quality metrics and key performance indicators.
  • Manage a budget related to expense reports.
  • Meet revenue, TOE, safety, performance and quality goals and objectives.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree or undergraduate degree in a business or science-related field preferred.
  • 3-5+ years of experience in inventory control, procurement, shipping and receiving, inside sales preferred.
  • Certifications such as IATA, DOT, OSHA Right to Know, IMDG, Forklift, and Hazwoper are a plus.
  • Valid driver's license and transportation required.
  • Ability to travel outside Massachusetts up to 25% of the time.

  • Experience in laboratory operations or services.
  • Familiarity with customer service in a scientific environment.
