The Services Solutions Engineer at McNaughton-McKay plays a crucial role in managing and promoting Rockwell Automation Services, focusing on customer needs related to preventative maintenance, personnel training, and asset management. In this role, the Services Solutions Engineer will engage in both pre-sale and post-sale responsibilities. Pre-sale activities include preparing an annual Business Plan that analyzes local service market opportunities, identifying strategic customers, and developing promotional activities to establish service sales goals. The engineer will collaborate with various departments, including Engineering, Operations, and Sales, to promote the service portfolio effectively. Additionally, they will travel with sales teams to target accounts, promoting services such as Repair Parts Analysis, Condition Monitoring, Predictive/Preventive Maintenance, and Asset Management. Post-sale responsibilities involve monitoring customer satisfaction and the performance of aftermarket services provided by McNaughton-McKay and Rockwell Automation. The engineer will develop strong working relationships with RA Services to ensure the effective supply of aftermarket services and will work with vendors to maintain a high-quality customer training program. Documenting sales growth in assigned products and services within target accounts is also a key aspect of this role, ensuring that the company meets its strategic objectives and customer needs.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares an annual Business Plan analyzing local service market opportunities and establishing service sales goals.
  • Works with Engineering, Operations, and Sales resources to promote the service portfolio.
  • Identifies and qualifies strategic target accounts to grow the business segment.
  • Travels with sales to promote productivity enhancement services at identified target accounts.
  • Participates in the development of service contracts and agreements with customers.
  • Monitors customer satisfaction and performance of aftermarket services, initiating corrective actions as needed.
  • Develops working relationships with RA Services to coordinate aftermarket services support.
  • Works with vendors to develop and maintain a quality customer-training program.
  • Documents sales growth in assigned products and services in target accounts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (four-year degree).
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in related sales, services, and solutions is preferred.
  • Manufacturing/Plant experience or understanding of service contracts.
  • Understanding of product technologies related to aftermarket services.
  • Commercial skills in working with vendors and customers on service and support issues.
  • Proven analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
