About the position

The purpose of this position is to supervise the activities of crews on the fryer ranches, including cleanup, setup, and landscaping of excess lands to maintain Foster Farms standards of quality, safety, and cost.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, analyze, guide and control all aspects of the Set Up/Clean Up Crew to promote consistent performance at the least cost, while maintaining highest quality and safety standards.
  • Anticipate and monitor ranch and crew labor needs, including orientating and training Clean Up/Set Up Persons to become Assistant Ranch Foreperson Trainees.
  • Work closely with other supervisors to solve labor problems and distribute labor.
  • Responsible for training and development of Set Up/Clean Up Crew Leadspersons and preparing crew employees for training programs.
  • Supervise all maintenance of equipment, including justifying and purchasing new equipment as needed, and monitoring all equipment service programs.
  • Monitor quality of all work in area of responsibility.
  • Complete necessary records to ensure evaluation of Brooder Crew employees monthly.
  • Oversee safety programs and plan, project, and coordinate clean/setup activities while maintaining the lowest possible cost consistent with quality standards.

Requirements

  • Strong Animal Science background/chicken growing experience (a Bachelor of Science Degree in Poultry Science, Ag-Business or related field is preferred).
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
  • Strong leadership/supervisor skills with the ability to act independently and evaluate fairly and objectively.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends, holidays, and early/late hours.
  • Good computer skills and the ability to create and analyze data.
  • Ability to interface with all support groups, departments, and upper management.
  • Ability to work independently/unsupervised with strong time management skills.
  • Valid Class C Driver's License and a good DMV driving record.
  • Ability to follow and enforce all company policies and guidelines including bio-security and animal welfare policies and guidelines.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong mechanical, mathematical, and analytical aptitude.

Benefits

  • Salary Range: $68,640-$74,500 per year
