About the position

The Set-up/Operator position at Modine Manufacturing Company involves setting up and operating mechanically controlled production equipment to ensure efficient production processes. Responsibilities

• Set up mechanically controlled production equipment such as press brakes, saws, drills, and welders.
• Install tools, dies, or fixtures to produce parts to blueprint tolerance and specifications.
• Use precision measuring instruments and tools to ensure proper machine operation.
• Perform first piece inspections and mark approved pieces as samples for operators.
• Ensure all safety features are functioning before operating machines.
• Conduct weekly machine inspections and maintain accurate production and quality records.
• Perform material handling as required and maintain a clean work area.
• Advise supervisor of any irregularities in the job and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to maintain quality standards and work with minimal direct supervision.
• More than basic knowledge of tools and processes.
• Ability to read, write, add, and subtract.
• Ability to follow instructions and instruct others in machine operations.
• Ability to work from diagrams and prints.
• Ability to frequently handle 21-50 lbs. while standing.
