About the position
The Set-up Operator will be responsible for performing typical machine shop setups and functions to support the production floor in a specialty fastener processing facility. This role includes operating and setting up machining equipment to facilitate efficiency and improve current procedures.
Responsibilities
- Setup machining dept equipment for order production
- Manage daily production requirements and delivery
- Perform first article inspections to verify part quality at setup
- Design and machine production fixtures and tools
- Review work inspections, blueprints, or samples to identify and propose machine setup and in-process improvements
- Maintain safe, clean, and organized equipment and workstations
- Support lean manufacturing activities
- Support quality and daily problem-solving activities
- Perform other duties as assigned by management to support production team
Requirements
- Ability to read and interpret work instructions, blueprints, and standard operating procedures
- Must be mechanically inclined
- Experience with manual machining, experience with lathes and mills
- Experience with CNC machining setup a plus
- Light to moderate physical effort required; Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs
- Familiar with control systems; PLC and HMI programming a plus
- High School diploma or GED required
