About the position
The Set-Up Technician / Machine Operator is responsible for setting up and adjusting dies into stamping presses to ensure that parts are produced within specifications. This role involves configuring, adjusting, and operating automatic or semi-automatic machines and mechanical equipment, while ensuring quality production at expected levels.
Responsibilities
- Set up and adjust various sizes of dies into stamping presses.
- Perform necessary die adjustments during production to check accuracy.
- Configure, adjust, and operate automatic or semi-automatic machines and mechanical equipment.
- Ensure quality production of assigned jobs at expected production levels.
Requirements
- Basic mechanical skills with a desire to learn.
- Prior experience in setting compound foil dies or similar experience is preferred.
- Prior experience troubleshooting compound dies and punch press breakdown is preferred.
- Ability to use various power shop and mechanical tools.
- A minimum of a high school diploma or GED is required.
- Ability to learn quickly and willingness to retrain and work overtime as necessary.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in die setting (1 year preferred).
- Experience in machine setup (2 years required).
- Experience in mechanical troubleshooting (2 years required).
