About the position

SAIC has an immediate opening for a Systems Engineer/SETA to provide direct customer support on a critical development effort involving autonomous systems. This role is integral to the project life cycle and encompasses a variety of tasks that are essential for the successful execution of the project. The Systems Engineer will be responsible for reviewing vendor designs at all phases, including design concepts, preliminary designs, detailed designs, and testing. This involves a thorough understanding of the system's Concept of Operations (CONOPS) and requirements, which must be identified and managed based on inputs from Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and stakeholders. In addition to design reviews, the Systems Engineer will communicate requirements to vendors and assess their designs against these requirements. This role requires direct reporting to multiple customer stakeholders regarding project status, risks, and opportunities. The Systems Engineer will also monitor integrated project schedules and assist in the development of project review briefings that are crucial for presentation at an executive level. Effective communication is key, as the Systems Engineer will provide timely and precise updates to both customer and contractor stakeholders to foster collaboration in project execution. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who can identify problems and seek out solutions independently, without the need for detailed guidance. Furthermore, the Systems Engineer will represent the customer during key test events, ensuring that all aspects of the project align with customer expectations and requirements.
