About the position

SAIC has an immediate opening for a Systems Engineer/SETA to provide direct customer support on a critical development effort. This role will support many aspects of the project life cycle and perform a variety of tasks to ensure the successful execution of the project. The Systems Engineer will be responsible for reviewing vendor designs at all phases, including design concepts, preliminary designs, detailed designs, and testing. This involves identifying and managing system CONOPS (Concept of Operations) and requirements based on inputs from Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and stakeholders. The engineer will communicate these requirements to vendors and assess their designs against the established requirements. In addition to design review and requirements management, the Systems Engineer will directly report project status, risks, and opportunities to multiple customer stakeholders. This includes monitoring integrated project schedules and assisting in the development of project review briefings ahead of critical milestones for presentation at an executive level. Effective communication is crucial in this role, as the engineer will need to provide timely and precise updates to both customer and contractor stakeholders to foster effective collaboration in the execution of the project. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who can identify problems and seek out solutions without needing detailed guidance.
