Sewing Machine Operator (Industrial)

About the position

The Industrial Sewing Machine Operator position involves working in a family-owned business that specializes in producing custom specialty filter screens for the HVAC and Air Movement Industry. The role requires operating various sewing machines and performing quality checks on finished products, ensuring they meet high standards. Responsibilities

• Perform basic equipment maintenance tasks such as replacing needles and cleaning sewing machines
• Select supplies, such as fasteners and thread, in accordance with job specifications
• Examine finished products to verify they meet high quality standards
• Inspect production materials (fabrics, zippers, etc) for quality
• Operate a single needle sewing machine, a multi-needle serger, and a binding machine
• Follow production order documents accurately
• Use basic measuring and cutting tools such as scissors, ruler, tape measure, and protractor

Requirements

• 7 years of sewing experience
• High school diploma or GED
• Experience with industrial sewing machines
• Detail-oriented with the ability to follow production order documents
• Ability to use basic measuring and cutting tools
• Physical ability to move and reach onto the table surface and stand or sit for long periods

Nice-to-haves

• 2+ years of industrial sewing experience (preferred)
• Experience working with Nylon/Vinyl mesh and canvas materials
