About the position

The Point Administrator at UMass Memorial Health is responsible for the design, development, administration, operation, and support of Microsoft 365 Point Online and related capabilities. This role involves applying industry best practices to enhance UMass Memorial Health's Point technology and ensuring alignment with organizational strategies and goals. The position requires collaboration with various teams to maintain technology standards and provide technical guidance.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, administer, and support Microsoft 365 Point Online and related capabilities.
  • Implement and maintain technology standards across Information Services.
  • Assist in designing, branding, and structuring Point implementations for users.
  • Define, implement, and maintain a governance model for Point Intranet, Extranet, and Internet sites.
  • Monitor Point availability, user activity, error logs, and site statistics, responding to issues as needed.
  • Train authorized Point Site Administrators on content organization and structure.
  • Test web applications and maintain assigned sites.
  • Manage access permissions for user security on web pages.
  • Provide end-user support for Point.
  • Communicate independently with user departments in a professional manner.
  • Be available outside normal working hours for emergency support and planned maintenance.
  • Stay updated with related Point technologies through training and participation in conferences.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in computer science, engineering, information technology, or related field.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Point technologies and integration with Microsoft Office software.
  • Knowledge of PowerShell scripting and basic understanding of HTML and CSS.
  • Understanding of Microsoft Active Directory server services and networked environments.
  • Familiarity with computer equipment, data communications, and local area networking.
  • Knowledge of technical report writing, systems analysis techniques, and database management concepts.
  • Ability to write moderately complex programs and develop detailed program specifications.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with creative thinking abilities.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, including report preparation.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and organized.
  • Team player willing to teach and learn.
  • Ability to communicate and teach non-technical users.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA): Teamwork Administrator Associate certification.
  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSA): Enterprise Administrator Expert certification.
  • Experience working within a virtualized environment.
