About the position

The State of Connecticut's Department of Transportation is seeking a SharePoint - Power BI Developer (Information Technology Analyst 2) to develop and support applications using SharePoint, Power BI, O365, and Visual Studio. This role involves creating new end-user applications for data visualization, maintaining existing applications, providing technical support, and performing business analysis to evaluate requirements and design customized tools.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement new end-user applications and tools for data consumption and visualization.
  • Maintain existing applications and dashboards, providing post-implementation support.
  • Provide training on applications and data tools as required.
  • Evaluate business requirements and design customized applications and tools.
  • Act as a liaison to hardware and software vendors, system developers, and the user community.
  • Participate in project planning sessions to analyze requirements and provide design recommendations.
  • Conduct system performance analysis and tuning.
  • Assist staff and customers in using computer systems and software packages.
  • Participate in recovery activities and system integration testing.
  • Coordinate resources for projects and ensure timely completion.

Requirements

  • Six (6) years of experience in information technology operations, programming, systems/software development, or another IT-related support area.
  • One (1) year of experience performing professional IT work in areas such as installation and support of microcomputer hardware, software, and operating systems.
  • Experience with Office 365 applications.
  • Experience provisioning and configuring SharePoint Lists.
  • Experience integrating and extending SharePoint functionality using Power Automate.
  • Experience troubleshooting SharePoint issues.
  • Experience building data models, dashboards, and reports using Power BI.
  • Experience writing applications with Visual Studio or VS Code.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience providing guidance and best practices regarding SharePoint Online.
