About the position

The SharePoint Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining SharePoint sites and technology governance processes within the organization. This role ensures the effective use of SharePoint to meet business needs and improve collaboration and productivity. The developer will maintain and enhance the EA SharePoint site using Microsoft Power Tools and should possess sound knowledge of AWS Services to perform Proofs of Concept (POCs) to validate architecture patterns before documenting them on SharePoint. Additionally, this role serves as an EA Solution and Technology Governance administrator, facilitating the execution of a governance process for approving new technologies or solutions. This position offers a flexible work arrangement, allowing for either a hybrid or fully remote setup. Candidates residing near one of the company's office locations are expected to work in the office three days a week (Tuesday through Thursday), while those who live further away will primarily work remotely, with occasional office visits as business needs arise. The company emphasizes the importance of collaboration and communication, ensuring that the SharePoint Developer works effectively with cross-functional teams to achieve organizational goals. The SharePoint Developer will engage in various responsibilities, including developing and maintaining the EA SharePoint site, creating POCs in a cloud environment, maintaining detailed documentation of architecture patterns, and managing technology governance processes. The role requires a proactive approach to collaboration, compliance, and governance, ensuring that all solutions adhere to industry standards and regulations. The expected outcomes include high uptime for the SharePoint site, effective use of AWS services, comprehensive documentation, and enhanced compliance with governance processes.

Responsibilities

  • Perform development activities on the EA SharePoint site using Microsoft PowerAutomate, PowerApps, and Power BI tools.
  • Create POCs in a cloud environment using AWS services.
  • Maintain and enhance detailed documentation of modern reference architecture patterns using AWS Cloud and Cloud Native Services in SharePoint.
  • Collaborate with requesters of new technology or solutions to identify the appropriate EA individual for approval or rejection.
  • Work with peers to assign primary assessors for new technology or solution governance requests.
  • Develop and implement an end-to-end technology governance process.
  • Manage solution and technology governance processes.
  • Lead governance sessions and facilitate the scoring of solutions from a design quality perspective.
  • Maintain a list of forthcoming initiatives scheduled for governance.
  • Establish and manage a permit to build tollgate for solution governance.

Requirements

  • At least 2-5 years of experience in SharePoint development with AWS/Cloud experience.
  • A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
  • An MBA or equivalent advanced degree is highly valued.
  • Prior experience in a regulated industry (e.g., insurance, healthcare) is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in SharePoint development, Microsoft Power tools, AWS services, and cloud architecture.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
