This division is dedicated to promoting health and managing infectious diseases that are reportable to the state health department. The SHARPS program focuses on the Surveillance for Healthcare Associated and Resistant Pathogens Patient Safety Program, which involves collaboration with various partners across federal, state, and local governments, healthcare systems, and professional organizations. In this role, the coordinator will be responsible for executing and coordinating the daily functions of the SHARPS program. This includes managing contracts and Agreement Addenda that facilitate infection prevention efforts statewide. As the program's expert, the coordinator will handle processes related to purchasing, travel, contracts, event planning, and other operational functions. Additionally, the coordinator will plan and organize program activities and events, such as statewide advisory group meetings and program conferences, while also addressing routine activities and problem-solving procedural issues. Support for the Medical Consulting Unit's operational functions may also be required as needed.
