Riddleberger Brothers, Inc. is seeking a talented and growth-minded individual to join our team as a Sheet Metal Field Mechanic. In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, installing, and repairing sheet metal products and equipment, including duct work, control boxes, drainpipes, ventilators, and furnace casings. Your work will be guided by job orders and blueprints, ensuring that all tasks are completed to the highest standards of quality and safety. As a Sheet Metal Field Mechanic, you will comply with all safety standards, policies, and procedures while performing your duties. You will utilize various tools and equipment, such as shears, hammers, punches, snips, and drills, to fabricate or alter parts as needed. Your responsibilities will also include installing support hangers, making duct connections using clips, drives, nuts, bolts, TDC tape, sealer, and sheet metal screws. You will be required to cut in 45-degree entry takeoff holes using hand or electric snips and drill and punch holes in metal for screws, bolts, and rivets. In addition to installation tasks, you will be responsible for trimming, filing, grinding, deburring, buffing, and smoothing surfaces, seams, and joints of assembled parts using hand tools and portable power tools. You will fasten seams and joints with bolts, cement, rivets, caulk, and clips, and install various components such as round pipe/spiral duct, flex duct, motorized dampers, fire dampers, splitter dampers, louvers, and air handlers. Insulating ducts or wrapping them when required and repairing duct liners will also be part of your duties. To perform these tasks, you will need to use ladders, teletowers, scaffolding, or lifts to reach installation points and operate equipment such as man lifts, personal lifts, chain hoists, and duct jacks.
