About the position
Brookville Roadster is seeking an Entry-Level Sheet Metal Finishing Operator to join their team. This role involves fabricating and installing products made from metal sheets, with a focus on meeting challenges and exceeding customer expectations. The operator will work primarily on the first shift and is expected to perform various tasks related to metal sheet processing and quality inspection.
Responsibilities
- Select types of sheet metal according to design plans.
- Measure and mark dimensions and reference lines on metal sheets.
- Drill holes in metal for screws, bolts, and rivets.
- Operate a variety of machines that cut, form, bend, or shape metal parts per production work orders and product specification sheets.
- Perform visual quality inspection of parts.
- Operate controls to engage machine and remove finished product for stacking on pallets or into containers.
- Fabricate or alter parts.
- Fasten seams or joints by welding, grinding, hammering, and riveting.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Six to twelve months related experience and/or training preferred.
- Strong work ethic and self-starter attitude.
- Good attendance and ability to work successfully in team settings.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring devices.
- Basic working knowledge of computer software, email, Excel, and internet.
- Knowledge of OSHA requirements including Electrical Safety, Machine Guarding, and Authorized Lockout/Tagout Procedures.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Visual skills for assessing functionality of equipment and solving practical problems.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with precision measuring instruments.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Excel.
