About the position

The Sheet Metal Foreman at Hopkins | Lacy will oversee craft activities to ensure productivity and compliance with construction standards. This role involves supervising a team, planning work activities, maintaining safety protocols, and ensuring quality control on job sites.

Responsibilities

• Ensure crew maintains professional relations with Owner, Engineer, and other team members
• Build jobs by plans and specifications as directed by supervisor
• Develop and communicate an effective plan in cooperation with the Superintendent
• Assure proper storage of materials and rented equipment
• Ensure proper operation and maintenance of equipment under control
• Review Miss Utility policy and ensure employee compliance
• Execute and follow all company and OSHA safety guidelines
• Preplan and schedule craft activities on a daily basis
• Recognize inspection requirements and material/equipment requirements
• Report any requests for extra work immediately
• Prepare/Assist superintendent in daily, work unit quantity, and equipment reports
• Assure quality control and contract compliance of craft activity under supervision
• Supervise journeymen and laborers to ensure productivity and quality
• Directly charge of safety and accident control for craft activity
• Participate in safety meetings and implement effective safety programs
• Keep work area neat, clean, and safe; conduct daily hazard analysis
• Assist in conducting post-incident investigations
• Assist in training and development of workers, recognizing talent

Requirements

• Journeyman's license in Sheet Metal, mechanical, or a related trade
• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• 3-5 years of prior construction experience
• Valid driver's license and Branch 'approved driver' status
• Working knowledge of standards, specifications, codes, regulations, and laws
• Working knowledge of OSHA regulations
