Elma Electronic Inc. is seeking a skilled Sheet Metal Programmer to join our team in Lawrenceville, GA. The Sheet Metal Programmer will play a crucial role in our manufacturing process, responsible for all aspects of sheet metal NC programming, including the operation of punch and laser combination machines, press brakes, and machining centers. This position requires close collaboration with the Manufacturing Manager, Engineering teams, and N/C Operators to ensure efficient production workflows and high-quality outputs. In this role, the Sheet Metal Programmer will be tasked with programming and operating a variety of CNC machines, interpreting project DXF files to optimize nesting for material efficiency, and planning sheet metal parts to minimize waste. The programmer will also be responsible for identifying and acquiring the necessary tooling for job assignments, generating programs for all machines, and editing shop routings as needed. Collaboration with the Purchasing department is essential to ensure accurate material ordering, while feedback to Engineering on design manufacturability will help reduce manufacturing costs. The successful candidate will verify first articles and conduct in-process inspections to ensure compliance with drawing requirements. Additionally, creating thorough documentation and procedures to support shop production will be a key responsibility.
