About the position

The Sheetmetal Technician at Bristow Group, Inc. is responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to the maintenance and repair of aircraft components. This role requires adherence to company policies, procedures, and specifications as outlined in both the company's manuals and the manufacturers' guidelines, as well as compliance with the Federal Air Regulations. The technician will be expected to sign, record, and take responsibility for all work performed, ensuring that all tasks are completed to the highest standards of quality and safety. In this position, the technician will own and maintain a basic set of standard and metric aircraft quality tools that are specific to the shop or floor area assigned. Efficient use of all company tools, parts, equipment, and materials is essential. The technician must also provide detailed reports on work progression to ensure continuity of work across shifts. Keeping up to date with any changes in manuals, policies, and rules is crucial for maintaining compliance and safety in the workplace. A key aspect of this role is maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly work area, which includes personal and shop equipment. The technician must be vigilant about identifying and reporting any unsafe or hazardous practices that could pose risks to themselves or others. Additionally, they are responsible for alerting the Shop Lead or designated personnel about any aircraft irregularities, such as major maintenance discrepancies or emergencies. Other duties may be assigned as needed, requiring flexibility and a proactive approach to work.

Responsibilities

  • Accomplishing all work assigned in accordance with company policies, procedures, and specifications.
  • Properly signing, recording, and assuming responsibility for all work performed.
  • Owning and maintaining a basic set of standard and metric aircraft quality tooling.
  • Efficiently using all company tools, parts, equipment, and materials.
  • Providing detailed reports of work progression for shift transitions.
  • Keeping up to date with manual changes, policy changes, and rules concerning general conduct.
  • Maintaining an alert attitude towards unsafe or hazardous practices.
  • Keeping a clean, safe, and orderly work area.
  • Ensuring the Shop Lead is aware of aircraft irregularities and emergencies.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be able to operate MS Office Suite and some web-based computer programs (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
  • Must be available to work overtime as required.
  • Previous training or experience with company-specific airframes strongly preferred.
  • Must be detail-oriented, a fast learner, and a self-starter.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of sheet metal experience required.
