About the position

The Shelton Promise Program Manager at The Evergreen State College is a full-time, project position responsible for coordinating, managing, and implementing all aspects of the newly funded Shelton Promise Program. The manager will oversee the delivery of wrap-around services from enrollment through graduation, which includes academic and career advising, course registrations, housing, and student employment opportunities. The position requires significant engagement with the Mason County community, where the manager will deliver presentations to prospective students and their families, providing essential information about scholarships, financial aid, admissions processes, and campus life. The manager will also leverage technology to enhance recruitment efforts and track program progress, ensuring compliance with funding requirements and maintaining financial accountability. Additionally, the role involves collecting and analyzing program data, submitting evaluations and reports to stakeholders, and researching best practices to improve program services. This position is designed to be flexible, requiring the manager to work evenings and weekends as needed, and to adapt to the dynamic needs of the program and its participants. The successful candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of higher education admissions practices, and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences. Responsibilities

  • Coordinate, manage, and implement all facets of the Shelton Promise Program.
  • Provide leadership and direction for the program's administration and reporting.
  • Deliver presentations to prospective students and their families about scholarships, financial aid, and admissions processes.
  • Leverage technology tools for recruitment activities and program tracking.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Communications to create promotional materials for the program.
  • Monitor compliance with funding sources to meet program goals and objectives.
  • Ensure financial and budgetary accountability for the Shelton Promise Program.
  • Facilitate the collection, storage, and analysis of program data.
  • Complete and submit program evaluations and reports to stakeholders.
  • Research best practices and trends to enhance programs and services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Three years of full-time, professional level work experience in college admissions and new student recruitment.
  • Professional experience working effectively with diverse communities.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience explaining scholarship and financial aid processes, including FAFSA.
  • Experience in multicultural student recruitment, advising, or related services.
  • Experience with customer relationship management software designed to improve communication with prospective students.
  • Fluent and proficient in Spanish speaking, reading, and writing.
