Responsibilities

• Patrol Rice County to preserve peace and serve the public.
• Enforce laws, ordinances, or regulations as applicable.
• Investigate crimes, apprehend criminals, and testify in court as required.
• Attend training classes and complete qualifications necessary to maintain Peace Officer license and other certifications.
• Assist other county, state, and federal agencies as needed.
• Perform all other duties as assigned or apparent.

Requirements

• Associate's degree in Criminology, Sociology, Psychology, or related field.
• Successful completion of Law Enforcement Skills Field Training Program at an accredited facility or equivalent as mandated by POST.
• Must be licensed as a peace officer in the State of Minnesota.
• Valid Driver's license is required.

Nice-to-haves

• Two years previous law enforcement experience is preferred.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred.
• 4 year college degree is preferred.
• Any other related experience or certifications.
