Responsibilities

• Monitors inmate movement, behavior, and performance in maintenance and housekeeping activities.
• Transports inmates to various locations as required.
• Performs technical and clerical tasks related to inmate booking and evidence processing.
• Oversees inmate workers in various assignments, ensuring compliance with rules and regulations.
• Prepares purchase orders and maintains inventory records for supplies and equipment.
• Operates County vehicles for transportation and business-related details.
• Prepares detailed reports of activities and actions taken during shifts.
• Operates electronic security devices and monitors alarms and video cameras.

Requirements

• Any combination of experience, education, and training demonstrating knowledge and abilities for Sheriff's Service Technician I.
• Five years of service with the Ventura County Sheriff's Office as a Sheriff's Service Technician I for advancement to II, plus certification of merit.
