About the position

The 2nd-shift Shift Coordinator position at an automotive manufacturing facility in Gordonsville, TN, offers an exciting opportunity for individuals with experience in industrial manufacturing. This role involves overseeing production activities, managing cross-functional teams, and ensuring compliance with quality standards. The Shift Coordinator will act as a liaison between production technicians and support groups, while also providing leadership and guidance to ensure operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Work as the first point of contact for production technicians and coordinate activities with support groups such as maintenance, engineering, quality, tooling, shipping, and management.
  • Assure that the team addresses all relevant issues within the specification and various standards, including First Piece Check, Quality Investigations, and compliance with workplace guidelines.
  • Work with the Production Manager and other Shift Coordinators to obtain necessary resources to support the team's requirements from a manpower perspective.
  • Act as a backup for the production manager in coordinating with external customers.
  • Provide daily reporting of production activities for the designated shift.
  • Schedule daily production activities to ensure all customer requirements are met and parts are available for shipping.
  • Oversee Material Handling and Supply Inventory.
  • Assist the Production Manager with daily management of Time and Attendance utilizing the current timekeeping system.

Requirements

  • 2 to 5 years of Industrial Manufacturing experience.
  • Experience in automotive manufacturing is a plus.
  • Computer skills required including Microsoft Office, Email, etc.
  • Excellent oral communication skills required.
  • Knowledge of Toyota Production Systems beneficial.
