About the position

The Shift Lead at Walgreens is responsible for overseeing store operations in the absence of management, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow. This role includes opening and closing the store, handling cash transactions, and providing exceptional customer service. The Shift Lead also plays a key role in training team members and maintaining store standards.

Responsibilities

  • Opens and closes the store in the absence of store management.
  • Handles cash transactions including customer refunds and cash drops to the safe.
  • Engages customers and resolves issues to ensure a positive experience.
  • Models customer service best practices for team members.
  • Assists with vendor deliveries and inventory management.
  • Maintains accurate inventory counts and pricing compliance.
  • Assists with bookkeeping activities as necessary.
  • Ensures store cleanliness and maintenance standards are met.
  • Communicates tasks and reports issues to management when necessary.
  • Completes special assignments and other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • One year of prior leadership, supervisory, or retail key holder work experience.
  • Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.

Nice-to-haves
