About the position

The position involves opening and closing the store in the absence of management, ensuring operational readiness, and delivering exceptional customer service. The role includes cash handling, inventory management, and assisting with training and development of team members. The individual will also serve as a communication bridge between management and staff, ensuring compliance with company policies and local regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Open and close the store in the absence of management, including system start-ups and cash handling.
  • Ensure the store floor and stock room are ready for business operations.
  • Handle product returns, order voids, customer refunds, and cash drops to the safe.
  • Engage customers by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
  • Resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure a positive experience.
  • Model and share customer service best practices with team members.
  • Hold store keys and assist with vendor deliveries by opening the back door.
  • Register all sales accurately on the cash register, including handling scanning errors and price modifications.
  • Assist management in reviewing order exceptions and reverse logistics.
  • Evaluate and develop merchandise displays and complete resets and revisions.
  • Maintain accurate inventory counts and ensure compliance with the Outdate program.
  • Assist with pricing tasks and ensure proper signage is displayed in the store.
  • Support bookkeeping activities as necessary, including cash reports and ledgers.
  • Maintain store cleanliness and appearance, requesting repairs as needed.
  • Assist with food item separation and stock rotation using FIFO method.
  • Have working knowledge of store systems and equipment, assisting at the pharmacy as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products.
  • Conduct bag checks for team members before leaving the store.
  • Complete special assignments and other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • One year of prior leadership, supervisory, or retail key holder work experience.
  • Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
