About the position

The Shift Lead at Walgreens is responsible for overseeing store operations in the absence of management, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow. This role includes managing cash handling, customer service, inventory control, and assisting with training and development of team members. The Shift Lead plays a crucial role in delivering a positive customer experience and maintaining store compliance with policies and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Open and close the store in the absence of management, including cash handling and system start-ups.
  • Engage customers by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
  • Model and deliver exceptional customer service best practices to team members.
  • Hold store keys and manage store operations without management as necessary.
  • Assist with vendor deliveries and coach team members on warehouse and ordering processes.
  • Register all sales accurately on assigned cash register and manage related sales records.
  • Assist in evaluating and developing promotional displays and maintaining accurate inventory counts.
  • Ensure compliance with pricing regulations and maintain proper signage in the store.
  • Assist with bookkeeping activities, including cash reports and ledgers.
  • Maintain store cleanliness and appearance, requesting repairs as needed.
  • Assist with food item separation and stock rotation according to policies.
  • Serve as a liaison between management and team members, communicating tasks and issues.

Requirements

  • One year of prior leadership, supervisory, or retail key holder work experience.
  • Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.

  • Knowledge of store inventory control.
