About the position

The Shift Lead at Walgreens is responsible for overseeing store operations in the absence of management, ensuring a smooth opening and closing of the store, and delivering exceptional customer service. This role involves engaging with customers, managing cash handling, and assisting with inventory and operational tasks to maintain store standards and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Open and close the store in the absence of management, including cash handling and system start-ups.
• Complete product returns, order voids, customer refunds, and cash drops to the safe.
• Engage customers by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
• Model and share customer service best practices with team members.
• Hold store keys to open and close the store as necessary.
• Assist and coach team members with warehouse and vendor ordering processes.
• Register all related sales on assigned cash register and maintain accurate records.
• Assist in evaluating and developing displays and completing resets and revisions.
• Maintain accurate inventory counts and ensure compliance with pricing regulations.
• Assist with bookkeeping activities as necessary.
• Ensure the store is clean and orderly, requesting repairs as needed.
• Assist with food item separation and stock rotation according to policies.
• Have working knowledge of store systems and equipment.
• Assist at the Pharmacy out window as requested.
• Ensure compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products.
• Conduct bag checks of team members before leaving the store.
• Complete special assignments and other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

• One year of prior leadership, supervisory, or retail key holder work experience.
• Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
