About the position
The Shift Lead at Walgreens is responsible for overseeing store operations in the absence of management, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow. This role includes managing customer interactions, handling cash transactions, and maintaining store inventory and appearance. The Shift Lead also plays a key role in training team members and ensuring compliance with company policies and local regulations.
Responsibilities
- Open and close the store in the absence of management, including cash handling and system start-ups.
- Engage customers and resolve issues to ensure a positive experience.
- Model and share customer service best practices with team members.
- Assist with vendor deliveries and manage inventory counts.
- Register all sales accurately and handle cash drops to the safe.
- Assist in evaluating and developing promotional displays and resets.
- Maintain store cleanliness and orderliness, requesting repairs as needed.
- Ensure compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products.
- Complete special assignments and other tasks as assigned.
Requirements
- One year of prior leadership, supervisory, or retail key holder work experience.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
