About the position

The Shift Lead at Walgreens is responsible for overseeing store operations in the absence of management, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow. This role includes managing cash handling, customer service, and inventory control while providing a delightful customer experience. The Shift Lead also serves as a liaison between management and team members, facilitating communication and training.

Responsibilities

  • Open and close the store in the absence of management, including cash handling and system start-ups.
  • Engage customers and resolve issues to ensure a positive customer experience.
  • Assist with product returns, order voids, and customer refunds.
  • Hold store keys and manage operations without management as necessary.
  • Coach team members on warehouse and vendor ordering processes.
  • Register all sales accurately on assigned cash register and manage related records.
  • Assist in evaluating and developing product displays and promotional materials.
  • Maintain accurate inventory counts and ensure compliance with pricing regulations.
  • Assist with bookkeeping activities, including cash reports and ledgers.
  • Ensure the store is clean and orderly, requesting repairs as needed.
  • Assist with food item separation and stock rotation according to policies.
  • Communicate tasks to team members in the absence of management and report issues to management.

Requirements

  • One year of prior retail work experience as a retail key carrier or shift leader.
  • Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of store inventory control.
