About the position

As a Shift Lead at Walgreens, you will play a crucial role in bridging the gap between management and team members, ensuring smooth store operations and delivering exceptional customer service. This position involves opening and closing the store, managing cash handling, and leading by example to create a positive shopping experience for customers. You will be responsible for various operational tasks, training team members, and maintaining store standards, all while fostering a collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Opens and closes the store in the absence of store management, including all required systems start-ups and cash handling.
  • Completes product returns, order voids, customer refunds, and cash drops to the safe.
  • Models and delivers a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
  • Engages customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
  • Resolves customer issues and answers questions to ensure a positive customer experience.
  • Models and shares customer service best practices with all team members.
  • Responsible for holding store keys to open and close without management as necessary.
  • Assists with and coaches other team members in the warehouse and vendor ordering process.
  • Responsible for registering all related sales on assigned cash register, including records of scanning errors and price modifications.
  • Assists manager in reviewing order exceptions and reverse logistics.
  • Assists manager in evaluating and developing displays and completing resets.
  • Maintains accurate inventory counts and ensures compliance with the Outdate program.
  • Responsible for basic department pricing and making daily price changes.
  • Assists with bookkeeping activities, including cash reports and ledgers.
  • Ensures clean, neat, orderly store condition and appearance.
  • Assists with separation of food items and stock rotation.
  • Has working knowledge of store systems and equipment.
  • Ensures compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products.
  • Responsible for bag checks of team members before leaving the store.
  • Completes special assignments and other tasks as assigned.
  • Attends training and completes PPLs requested by Manager.
  • Serves as a liaison between management and non-management team members.

Requirements

  • One year of prior leadership, supervisory, or retail key holder work experience.
  • Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
