About the position

The Shift Lead at Walgreens is responsible for overseeing store operations in the absence of management, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow. This role includes managing customer interactions, handling cash transactions, and maintaining store inventory and compliance with regulations. The Shift Lead also plays a key role in training team members and enhancing the customer experience.

Responsibilities

  • Open and close the store in the absence of management, including cash handling and system start-ups.
  • Engage customers and resolve issues to ensure a positive experience.
  • Model and share customer service best practices with team members.
  • Assist with warehouse and vendor ordering processes, including opening the backdoor for deliveries.
  • Register all sales accurately on the cash register and manage related sales records.
  • Assist in evaluating and developing promotional displays and maintaining inventory accuracy.
  • Ensure compliance with pricing regulations and maintain proper signage in the store.
  • Assist with bookkeeping activities as necessary or requested.
  • Maintain store cleanliness and appearance, requesting repairs as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products.
  • Conduct bag checks of team members before leaving the store.
  • Complete special assignments and other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • One year of prior leadership, supervisory, or retail key holder work experience.
  • Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
