About the position

The Shift Lead at Walgreens is responsible for overseeing store operations in the absence of management, ensuring a smooth opening and closing of the store, and delivering exceptional customer service. This role involves managing cash handling, assisting with inventory control, and training team members to uphold store standards and customer service best practices.

Responsibilities

• Open and close the store in the absence of management, including cash handling and ensuring readiness for business.
• Engage customers by greeting them and assisting with products and services to enhance their experience.
• Model and share customer service best practices with team members.
• Hold store keys and manage store operations without management as necessary.
• Assist with vendor deliveries and coach team members on warehouse and ordering processes.
• Register all sales accurately on the cash register and manage related transactions.
• Assist in evaluating and developing promotional displays and maintaining inventory accuracy.
• Ensure compliance with pricing regulations and assist with bookkeeping activities as needed.
• Maintain store cleanliness and appearance, requesting repairs when necessary.
• Assist with food item separation and stock rotation according to policies.
• Serve as a communication link between management and team members, reporting issues as needed.

Requirements

• One year of prior leadership, supervisory, or retail key holder work experience.
• Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
