About the position
The Shift Leader at IHOP is responsible for delivering exceptional hospitality and maintaining company standards while ensuring service excellence. This hourly position supports salaried management with daily operations and administrative tasks, while also providing excellent guest service on the restaurant floor.
Responsibilities
- Serves as primary point of contact for SOH when management is unavailable.
- Provides FOH training, coaching, and feedback to the team.
- May assume full responsibility for running a shift from time to time.
- Spends 95% of time on the restaurant floor.
- Acts as a mentor for new hires and assists with onboarding.
- Ensures compliance with all company standards, policies, and procedures.
- Assists with coordinating staffing needs when team members are unavailable.
- Handles cash receipts, store receipts, discounts, and reconciles cash receipts and store bank funds.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Ability to remain calm under pressure when dealing with guests, staff, equipment problems, or emergency situations.
