About the position

The Shift Leader at Luna Grill plays a crucial role in leading a dynamic team in a fast-paced restaurant environment. This position is responsible for inspiring and developing team members, upholding high standards of service, and ensuring exceptional guest experiences. The Shift Leader assists in training staff, managing daily operations, and providing leadership in the absence of the manager.

Responsibilities

• Inspire and develop team members to provide exceptional guest service.
• Assist with training of team members and cashiers.
• Inform guests of limited time offers (LTOs) and menu changes, making recommendations as needed.
• Demonstrate knowledge of the brand and menu items, answering guest inquiries.
• Take food orders and handle cash and credit transactions according to standards.
• Work with kitchen staff to meet special requirements for food preparation.
• Deliver food and beverages to guests in a timely manner.
• Perform side work at the start and end of each shift as required.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the service area, dining room, and restrooms.
• Monitor guest dining experiences and ensure satisfaction with food and service.
• Delegate tasks to front of the house team regarding daily operations.
• Assist with inventory counting and data entry into the computer system.
• Support morning administrative duties, including bank runs and invoicing.
• Train new front of the house team members.
• Ensure restaurant efficiency in the manager's absence.
• Attend scheduled team meetings and training sessions, providing suggestions for improvements.

Requirements

• One year of restaurant experience preferred, with team management or supervisory experience.
• High School Diploma required.
• Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and efficient.
• Effective communication skills in English; bilingual in Spanish preferred.
• Basic math skills and ability to operate a cash register or POS system.
• Computer literacy, particularly in Microsoft Office.
