About the position

At Taco Time NW, we pride ourselves on being different from other restaurant companies. Our shift leaders play a crucial role in ensuring that our operations run smoothly and efficiently while maintaining a high level of guest service. This position involves carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Shift leaders are responsible for training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work, as well as evaluating daily performance. They reward and coach employees, address complaints, and resolve problems in the absence of a manager, all while ensuring an exceptional dining experience for our guests. The shift leader's responsibilities include directing, coordinating, and participating in the preparation, cooking, assembling, or packaging of food served or prepared by crew members. They issue written and oral instructions, establish priorities, and expedite workflow. Additionally, shift leaders assign duties and examine work for completeness, efficiency, and conformance to policies and procedures. They also reconcile daily receipts using cash control sheets and daily sales logs, record drops, and bank daily. A complete understanding of our menu is essential, as is the ability to assist with serving orders while tending to our guests' needs. In this role, shift leaders are expected to coach others through the enforcement of all workplace safety policies and procedures. They communicate performance issues to the assistant general manager and general manager, create and execute shift goals, and enforce policies during their shifts. We are looking for individuals who are fun, energetic, friendly, outgoing, and confident, and who share our commitment to guest service and the pursuit of the ultimate dining experience.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Food handlers permit required.
  • Three to six months of practical experience in a corporate-owned restaurant.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Strong commitment to quality customer service.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills and attentive listening abilities.
  • Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness in tasks.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and problem-solve effectively.
  • Basic math skills required.
  • Physical ability to frequently move and/or lift products and containers weighing 10 to 50 pounds.
