About the position

The Shift Leader at Baskin Robbins is responsible for overseeing Crew Members during their shifts, ensuring operational standards are met while delivering an exceptional guest experience. This role involves coaching, setting goals, providing feedback, and motivating the team to achieve success in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Coach Crew Members throughout their shift to execute operational standards and deliver a great guest experience.
  • Set goals, provide job assignments, and motivate team members, celebrating successes and providing feedback to correct deficiencies.
  • Deploy team members appropriately to meet guests' needs and service standards throughout the shift.
  • Support training of Crew Members as directed by General Manager or Assistant Manager.
  • Communicate goals and hold team members accountable for performance during the shift.
  • Role model exceptional guest service and prioritize guests' needs.
  • Drive a sense of urgency through Crew Members to satisfy guests' needs and resolve problems.
  • Reinforce the use of systems, tools, and procedures throughout the shift, correcting deficiencies as needed.
  • Monitor team performance to ensure quality, service, and cleanliness standards are met throughout the shift.
  • Ensure restaurant standards and marketing initiatives are properly executed during the shift.
  • Control labor costs, food costs, and cash throughout the shift by following all systems and processes.
  • Monitor and ensure Crew Members comply with all policies and procedures related to cleanliness, food safety, and restaurant safety and security during the shift.
  • Report equipment issues, provide Crew Member performance feedback, and discuss other restaurant opportunities with General Manager.
  • Comply with all restaurant, Brand, and franchisee policies.

Requirements

  • Fluent in speaking and reading English.
  • Basic math and writing skills.
  • Restaurant, retail, or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Ability to anticipate and understand guests' needs and exceed their expectations.
  • Set compelling targets and deliver on commitments.
  • Make good decisions based on analysis, experience, and judgment.
  • Ability to build effective teams and enable them to make decisions.
